Ever wondered how Twitter analyses the enormous amount of tweets to determine what is trending? Meet Apache Storm; a scalable stream processor that makes reliable, distributed stream processing easier.

In this talk we will take a look at Apache Storm, a scalable distributed stream processor acquired and open sourced by Twitter. We will take a high-level look at the key concepts and go down the rabbit hole by running our own code to "analyse" the works of Shakespeare.

This talk aims to give an introduction into Apache Storm for people interested in scalable, distributed computing. No programming experience is required, but for the demo it helps if you can read some entry-level Java.
