From 1985 tot 1991 I studied at the Technical University of Eindhoven, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, department of Control systems technology (prof. J.J. Kok).

In 1993 started working as a senior consultant environmental technology at Peutz bv, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. There I mainly do consulting work during planning stages of projects, as well as applications for environmental and building permits. Over the years the subjects of my studies and consulting have included:
- Industrial noise
- Soil and ground water quality
- Energy efficiency & Waste disposal
- Life cycle analysis of products
- Industrial and transport safety
- Air quality

My clients include industry, hospitals, real estate developers, municipalities, the Dutch National Road Agency (Rijkwaterstaat) and the Dutch National Environmental Agency (RIVM)

My software development experience has mostly been in Basic, Pascal, Matlab, C, C++ and bash.

I am an active member of the Linux User Group Nijmegen.

At work I provide internal user support for several open source packages, including OpenOffice LibreOffice, gimp and qgis.

The laboratory facilities of Peutz in Nijmegen include a wind tunnel which I use to study the atmospheric dispersion of air pollution around buildings and on ships. Within the company I write and maintain the software that is used for processing the dispersion measurement data from the wind tunnel. The wind tunnel and the software are certified by the RIVM for use in planning and permitting procedures.

In the past I have also written software for modelling industrial noise dispersion, air pollution dispersion and for life cycle analysis.
