Practical introduction to web application testing using Cypress
A relatively new tool for testing web applications has been open sourced in 2017, called Cypress.
This tool is created with developer friendliness in mind. A showcase on important aspects of what makes Cypress developer friendly will be given. Then, a quick overview what is and what is not possible in Cypress.
The main focus of this talk is to give practical examples of in production applications and how certain problems are now tested using Cypress. This will be done using actual dev environments using Docker. The applications have a python/django backend, and a react/mobx frontend, but Cypress has clue what tech stack the applications are using.
A brief dive into Gitlab runners is also given, to give an idea how Cypress can be automated.
